Jay Nolan Community Services’ Resource and Training Center is an educational gateway to advance professional development, technical skills, and best practices – all through the lens of inclusion. It has recently expanded its scope and range of services to become a true national resource for education and information across a wide spectrum of issues facing people with different abilities. Our professional trainers and consultants provide the necessary skill sets and tools to help people with autism and other disabilities achieve their life goals.
The Resource and Training Center’s live, interactive webinars give professional care and service providers, educators and special educators, parents and families, advocates and self-advocates a chance to learn from the country’s most respected and inspiring leaders in interactive training programs, at a reasonable cost. The webinars take a distinctively personal approach to a broad spectrum of challenges and opportunities associated with disability issues:
* Meaningful Employment
* Social Skills and Friendships
* Home Ownership or Control of Your Home
* Valued Community Membership and Participation
* Sensory and Movement Differences
* Genuine Choice and Control
* Achieving Person-Centered Supported Living
Presenters are not only experts in their respective fields, but also advocates on behalf of people with disabilities. Their discussions feature compelling case studies of their most challenging experiences and clearly demonstrate how out-of-the-box thinking can lead to new skill sets, best practices, policy changes and, most importantly, to improving quality life outcomes.
The Resource and Training Center also offers Consultation Services to support families and others with communication and accommodation needs. These services are independent of other support services provided by JNCS and are more advisory in nature. Depending on the parameters of the assignment, JNCS will provide reporting, external evaluations, strategies, matrixes for achievement and one-on-one guidance or training for parents, family members and care givers.
